A MAN has been airlifted to hospital following a collision in Chorley near Cholmondeley on Wednesday morning.

At around 9.15am on Wednesday, firefighters were called following reports of a one-vehicle collision in Nantwich Road.

On arrival the crews found that a blue Peugeot 206 car had collided with a tree.

Cheshire Police and the air ambulance were also in attendance.

Firefighters liaised with paramedics and extricated the driver, a man, from the vehicle by removing the roof.

The crews then passed the casualty into the care of paramedics, before he was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
