AN ELLESMERE business has shared the spirit of Christmas by donating leftover goods to the needy.

That Bakers Treat, based in Cockshutt, has experienced a busy Christmas period but as they will not be reopening the shop until Janurary, they have decided to donate leftover stock to deserving locals.

The stock has been left in charge of Maureen Read, vicar of Cockshutt, who says she will donate the goods to those at home who received no visitors over Christmas.

Bethany Beeson and Chloe Cornall who run the business said they wanted to give something back to key workers.

They said: "Just wanted to pop on here and say thank you so much for all the love and support that every one of you have given these past few months.

"As you can imagine even as busy as we’ve been we have had some leftover stock and we decided to give back to the community and those who are less fortunate in these times.

"Also we felt the need to give back to key workers during this hard time, so we’ve donated a variety of cakes and goodies to the staff at Seven Hospice in Shrewsbury as a thank you."

Meanwhile Maureen added: "Well done Beth and Chloe, you've settled so we'll into Cockshutt Village.

"The cakes will be given to those at home with no visitors.

"Thank you both so much.
