2020 is coming to a close and, likely enough, many will be glad to see the spring.

In a year like no other it has been a challenge to keep up with the changing seasons.

Indeed the prescribed reduction in time spent outdoors, coupled with the mass cancellation of events, has meant many of the seasonal milestones have just passed us by in 2020.

However our camera club members have refused to be downbeat.

Throughout the year they have often achieved the seemingly impossible by bringing a smile and, perhaps a tear, to the hundreds of people across the county who have been left isolated by government restrictions.

The way they have achieved this is quite remarkable.

By sharing their love of nature or pride in their local area they have provided a window to a world unseen for many months to a great many.

With many people seeing the world only from their own window such postcard pictures have been a morale booster for so many.

Hopefully as a vaccine is rolled out across the UK such people will now be able to plan for the day they can venture out and visit some of the places which they have seen showcased in these pages.

Perhaps they will take up photography and join our growing ranks of camera club members, capturing beauty for posterity.

In the meantime, here is a non-exhaustive selection of the best of this year’s shots.
