FIREFIGHTERS from Malpas helped tackle a fire at an address in Farndon on Monday evening.
At around 11.20pm firefighters from Malpas and Chester were dispatched to reports of fire in Quarry Hill in Farndon.
On arrival at the scene the crews found that there was a fire in the kitchen involving a washer/dryer.
Two firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
The crew then removed the appliance from the address and used a large fan to clear the smoke from the building
Firefighters remained at scene around one hour.
