AN ELLESMERE-based community arts group has received a healthy donation from a local supermarket thanks to local residents.
Fizzgigs create a range of local arts events which are accessible to the community and were the focus of one of Co-op's Community Funds.
The 'Local Community Fund' gives Co-op members the ability to donate a percentage of their purchases towards a community organisation and through that, they were able to raise £1,243 for Fizzgigs.
A spokesman for Fizzgigs thanked Co-op for the recent donation, with he cheque being accepted earlier this month.
Speaking after accepting the cheque, the spokesman said: "Fizzgigs would like to say a huge thank you to the Ellesmere Co-op and its members for the contribution from their community fund.
"We will make good use of this to stage events and general arty silliness whenever we can."
