PUPILS from Tushingham Primary School have received a welcome boost to their learning with the improvement to an outdoor space.
The outdoor area at the school required a new surface in order for the children to utilise the outdoor space – particularly important given learning at the school is very much focused outdoors.
The outdoor space at the school has now been given a new lease of life with the addition of bark chippings, donated by local firm Travis Perkins.
Travis Perkins are based in Whitchurch and supported the school via their charity, the Friends of Tushingham, a charity set up to raise money for the school.
After returning to school in September, the children have made to most of the improved outdoor space, engaging in various outdoor lessons.
Hayley Alldridge, chairman of the Friends of Tushingham said she was grateful for the donation.
"We are so grateful to Rob and the team at Travis Perkins for their kind donation," she said. "The school outdoor space was in need of a new surface and the bark has made such a difference.
"The children are spending more time learning outdoors and now they have an area that is fit for purpose."
