FIREFIGHTERS were called out to help free a man man trapped in the cab of a fuel tanker after a crash in Ellesmere Port.
Fire crews attended to the collision on Bridges Road shortly after 12.30am today (Wednesday (October 28)
The collision involved a HGV which was carrying around 40,000 litres of petrol and diesel.
One man was trapped inside the cab.
A cover jet was put in place and firefighters liaised with paramedics to safely extricate the driver.
Foam equipment was used to stem the leak from the tanker.
The road was closed in both directions.
