THE village of Hanmer will hold a scarecrow hunt next month to raise money for the local primary school.

The scarecrow hunt is being organised by St Chad's Primary School and Hanmer Playgroup to raise money for the school, with the theme of 'superheroes'.

The event was due to be held this week, but the recent implementation of Covid-19 restrictions in Wales have forced the event to be punch back a month.

Nicky Locker, senior teacher at St Chad's Primary School, said participants had a chance to win a range of hampers.

"The scarecrow hunt is in aid of St Chad's Primary School and the Playgroup," said Nicky. "People around the village and nearby villages will display scarecrows around Hanmer and are in chance of winning a range of 'staying in' hampers.

"The entry forms, £5, are available from Hanmer Village stores as well as the scarecrow hunt forms for £1. Again prizes are available."

The event will run from Monday, November 9 to Sunday, November 22 and entries must be submitted by Friday, November 6.
