A WHITCHURCH resident has achieved the surprise distinction of being Shropshire estate agent Barbers' 10,000 tenant.

The tenant moved into the property back in March an celebrations were in order, but sadly worldwide events had other ideas, with the move in taking place on the same day the UK entered a Covid-19 lockdown.

What should have been an exciting move in day turned out to be much more stressful, with fears that she may not be able to move in at all.

Luckily, following all the required government guidelines, move in still went ahead.

Finally, six months later, the tenant was able to receive her congratulations, with landlord Liz Weston and Rachael Fayle from Barbers paying a visit to present some goodies.

Rachael said the tenant was delighted to accept the honour of being Barbers' 10,000 tenant.

"She is very happy with her beautiful new home and although this has been the first chance to come and visit her since March, to announce her title, it was worth the wait," said Rachael. "Even the sun came along to surprise."

Meanwhile Mike Arthan, managing director of Barbers, sent his congratulations.

He said: "Barbers continue to be the lead letting agent in our area of operation and in August we again let around 50 properties in the month.

"A great recent achievement (during the Covid pandemic) has been the refinement of the tenant application process which has created efficiencies and significantly reduced the number of viewings per letting.

"Barbers continue to provide an excellent property management service ,very capably supported by our accounts and admin team."
