The Ellesmere branch of Shropshire Wildlife Trust has repaired a boardwalk to restore access to a nature reserve in the town.
The Nature Reserve, known as Birch Road Pond, in Ellesmere, has been under water for the last two years but work was carried out at the end of August to restore a boardwalk.
A spokesman for SWT said: “It has been flooded, with the water level about a metre higher than it should be, and all because the outlet was blocked down stream.
“Now at last the blockage has been removed, and the water level restored, so we have been able to repair the boardwalks, cut back the overgrown trees, and re-open the reserve to visitors!
“If you find yourself in Ellesmere with a bit of time to spare, come to Birch Road Pond, and have a look around for yourself.
“Thanks must go to Matt Marston and Lizzie Cockle for the repairs, and to Gareth Egarr, Jane, Anne, Kate and Edward for the final work party.”
