ENERGY firm SP Networks say they are working to restore power in various street in Malpas.
There is currently a power cut affecting the SY14 postcode area of Malpas, including properties in Brasseys Contract Road, Chorlton Lane and surrounding streets.
The company say there was no warning of the power cut, which was reported shortly before 3pm.
A spokesman said engineers were working to restore the power for around 5pm.
"Our control centre will attempt to reset the network remotely to restore power in stages, and our emergency response team are on their way to site to investigate a fault on the overhead line network," they said.
"Our team will work to get your power back on as quickly and as safely as possible, and we expect the power to be restored by 5pm.
"Once they arrive, or when we receive any update regarding the cause, we will be able to provide you with more information.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
