FIREFIGHTERS and police in Oswestry and Ellesmere dealt with two incidents of a bovine nature on Sunday.
At around 10am on Sunday, August 23, West Mercia Police were called to reports of cows loose on the road between Queens head and West Felton near Oswestry.
With 'great assistance' from members of the public, the four cows were moved back into a nearby field.
Meanwhile at around 11.30am, Ellesmere firefighters were called to assist with a cow that had got stuck in the Llangollen Canal.
The crew was on the scene for around 25 minutes, in which time the cow extricated itself from the canal.
