A WOMAN from Malpas will undertake her second charity tandem skydive later this year, this time as a way of giving back to her parents.

India-Skye Charlton, 37, will once again leap out of an aircraft in the name of charity following her first jump in 2012 for Action for M.E.

She is undertaking the jump at Tilstock Airfield on October 10 to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity close to her heart.

Both of India's parents suffer from different forms of dementia and have recently moved to a care home in their native Scotland.

India says the decision to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK is a way of giving back to the two people who have given their fair of support themselves.

"My parents both have different forms of dementia and recently had to be admitted to a care home in Aberdeenshire," said India.

"They have always supported me in whatever I’ve set out to achieve in life and have been my rock during difficult times such as a chronic illness I had 15 years ago.

"It’s very hard seeing that my parents had to leave their home to be cared for in the care home in Aberdeenshire and feeling so helpless about their condition inspired me to turn a negative into a negative by raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK who say they will have a ‘life-changing’ drug within the next five years.

"Doing the jump is also my way of saying thank you to my parents for all they have done for me.

"It’s now my turn to do something for them."
