FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a controlled burning at a building site in a village near Chester.
Shortly before 10am today (Friday, August 14) a fire crew were informed of a fire in the Tilston Road area of Malpas.
On arrival firefighters discovered that it was a case of controlled burning.
A decision was taken to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters did so with a hose reel jet.
They then turned over the materials involved in the fire and damped them down to make them safe.
A thermal imaging camera was used to look for hotspots.
Once the fire was fully out firefighters left the site.
They were in attendance for about 45 minutes.
