THE Friends of Wem Swimming Pool has provided an update on the current condition of the ongoing pool repairs
Gyms, pools and leisure centres across the UK have been closed since late March in line with government Covid-19 measures
In line with this, Wem pool closed its doors temporarily, but the closure has been a blessing in disguise, with the enforced closure providing ample opportunity to undertake key repairs.
A spokesman for the Friends of Wem Swimming Pool says that while there is still plenty of work to do, several key elements of the work have been completed.
The pool required the installation of brand-new pipe work, as well as a total refurbishment of the changing rooms.
“Keeping you posted. The changing room floor is almost completed,” they said. “The pipework is completed.
“That’s been an amazing job partnership by Garroll and Shropshire Pools and Spa.
“Still a lot to do.”
