A SHROPSHIRE-based arts group is looking for new members to join its board of trustees.

Arts Alive, whose aim is to enrich rural areas with access to high quality film and live events in their local venues, are looking for additional members who can bring new skills, dynamism and energy to the work they do in rural communities.

Under normal circumstances Arts Alive, who incorporate the award winning Flicks in the Sticks, coordinates more than 1,000 events a year including theatre, music, dance, film, spoken word and live satellite screenings, with more than 50,000 people in attendance at their events last year across Shropshire, Herefordshire and bordering areas.

As well as fulfilling their passion for the arts, the trustees help to oversee the finances and fundraising for the organisation, attend quarterly meetings, and provide a sounding board to the core team.

Executive director, Ian Kerry, says he is excited to recruit some new voices to the board that can inject new ideas in to the organisation.

He said, "We rely on our board to steer the Arts Alive ship, and help us to support our staff and volunteers to facilitate everything we do.

"We hope to increase our diversity and range of expertise with new board members, in particular we would welcome individuals aged 18-30 to bring a younger voice, and people with experience of fundraising, digital practices or human resources – any one of these skills would really enhance what we can collectively achieve."

Applicants have until August 10 to register their interest with the company. For more information visit www.artsalive.co.uk/Trustee-Recruitment.aspx
