WEM indoor market is set to return following on from the return of the outdoor market earlier this month.

The outdoor market reopened on June 4, with various restrictions in place, but with the easing of Covid-19 measures, the indoor market will also resume.

Social distancing measures will still apply though, with the market operating a one-way system through Wem Town Hall, as well as providing hand sanitiser to visitors.

A spokesman for the market said they looked forward to see customers return.

"Thanks to everyone who has supported the outdoor market so far," they said. "It’s been good to be back and it looks like finally the weather is improving for us, time for suncream rather than waterproofs.

"The indoor market will return Thursday, July 2.

"We will be operating a one-way system with the entrance through the front of Wem Town Hall and exit through the rear of the building onto Noble Street.

"There will be hand-sanitising points at the entrance and exit and the cafe will be open for takeaway drinks only.

"The toilets will remain closed to the public for the time being though we hope to open them at a later date.

"Please as always, use the opportunity to support the traders, but not to gather and socialise.

"We want to keep everyone as safe as we can during these strange times.

"Looking forward to seeing you next week – take care."
