MALPAS FC will have familiar faces at the helm for next season as they continue their mission to return to the top division of the Cheshire Football League.

Before the cancelling of all lower and non-league football because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Malpas FC sat mid-table in the Cheshire Football League Division One on 24 points.

With the playing staff and management returning along with the addition of a few new faces, the Wrexham Road side hope the coming season will see them promoted to the top-flight of Cheshire football.

A spokesman for the club said they wanted to capitalise on a decent season.

"As we slowly begin to return to normality, the club can start to look forward to the 20/21 season," they said.

"Our first priority has come to fruition, as the current management set up of Tommy Lloyd, Matthew Sutton, Daniel Thomas Lloyd, and Jess Kightley have all committed to a fourth season at the helm with a realistic ambition of securing promotion back to the premier division of the Cheshire Football League.

"With hopefully all of last year’s playing squad returning, and maybe three or four new faces being added, we can build on what was promising to be a decent 19/20 campaign, and once again move the club forward into the higher echelons of the football pyramid.

"With our fantastic fund raising committee continuing to build a great future, we look forward to seeing faces both old and new down at The Oxhays once we’re back up and running."
