Whitchurch Town Council is set to adopt new terms of reference for its working parties.
Currently, every aspect of the town council has terms of reference – the way the various committees should operate – but not one for working parties, which are occasionally set up to discuss a specific need.
At the most recent full council meeting, held virtually on Thursday, June 18, councillors discussed the proposal.
Councillor John Sinnott put the idea forward, with the focus of the discussion on whether drawing up a anew set of terms would provide more additional work for the council clerk Nicola Young.
A draft set of terms of reference were put forward and after some discussion, the decision was made for the fine tuning of the wording to be amended slightly, to cater specifically for working parties.
