A FOSTER mum who’d blamed a “hiccup” with her finances has been ordered to repay £4,338 after taking the money from the bank accounts of twins in her care.

Pamela Davies, 68, of Sefton Road, Old Colwyn, also received an 18 weeks suspended jail term with 100 hours unpaid work for what magistrates at Llandudno said was an abuse of trust. She admitted two counts of fraud.

Adam Warner, prosecuting, said a woman, who’d left Davies’s care on turning 18, discovered money was missing. The defendant had been a foster carer for more than 20 years.

Defence solicitor Graham Parry said the pensioner accepted “she’s not the greatest with money.”

Mr Parry added: "She ran up debts. She used the money from the girls, intending to repay it.”
