CHURCHES around Whitchurch are now able to be opened on request in line with current Covid-19 measure.

Like many other aspects of society, Churches across the UK closed their door temporarily earlier this year to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

With the high street beginning to reopen on Monday, June 15, churches have also been given permission to reopen for private prayer.

Last week there was some uncertainty over the best way to go about reopening churches, and as to whether worship should be supervised, with a member of the church present to ensure that all social distancing rules and hygiene guidance is followed

A solution has been found and now Holy Immanuel in Fauls and and Christ Church in Tilstock Churches will be opened on request at a mutually convenient time by ringing the Churchwardens:

In Whitchurch meanwhile, St Alkmund’s will be open each day between 12noon and 2pm, although not all areas will be accessible because of the current ongoing repair and renovation works.

To arrange a mutually convenient time to visit the churches call Freda Corfield on 07950 884830 or Joan Hockenhull on 01948 880226 for Tilstock and Pam Benbow on 01948 840356 or email Caroline Sewry at c.sewry@imperial.ac.uk for Fauls.
