SHROPSHIRE libraries have launched their Summer Reading Challenge for this year, with the theme of silliness and Ellesmere Library are helping out.

This year the challenge will be running virtually, so Ellesmere Library will not be directly involved, although library volunteers are able to help in other ways and want to hear how participants are getting on.

Sheila Williams from Our Space encouraged people to get involved.

"The Summer Reading Challenge is running virtually this year," said Sheila. "So you won't miss out if you love participating in this annual six book reading challenge.

"You can do it through school or home, but sadly not through the library this year, with us being closed.

"Join up online and use your library card to connect to our ebooks. Let us know if you need your PIN number.

"You can re-read books from home, or read books online – there is a lot of flexibility on what you can read and exciting new opportunities to access free online books.

"Take a look and send us a visitor post on how you get on and any good books you read this summer.

"Good luck!"
