A FLINTSHIRE schoolboy has raised hundreds of pounds for Chester Zoo.
Oliver Jones, a pupil at Ysgol Mynydd Isa, is a member of the zoo and became worried about the impact the ongoing pandemic might be having for its animals.
The six-year-old decided he wanted to raise money to put towards the zoo's food costs, so he took on a 27km sponsored bike ride.
His ride, which took place on Wednesday, saw Oliver cycle from Buckley to Queensferry, through to Saltney and back to Buckley via Broughton.
Oliver was accompanied and cheered on by members of his family on the day and upon completion of the gruelling challenge he celebrated with a cold Pepsi and his favourite cheese pizza.
He managed to raise £247, smashing his original £100 target - to the delight of his proud family.
