A COMPETITION to win a six-bedroom house in Loppington has been won by a Telford resident.

Alison Bellamy, 49 and a member of West Mercia Police, was the lucky winner of Grafton Farm, following the prize draw on Thursday.

The competition to win the house was launched last month by retiring couple Jane and Nigel Challoner, who sold around 500,000 raffle tickets to help raise money for Severn Hospice.

Through selling the tickets, the couple were able to raise more than £100,000 for the charity, as well making Alison the new owner of the £600,000 house.

After receiving the call from Jane, Alison said she was lost for words at receiving the news.

"I can't speak, I'm in shock," she said. "I had forgotten I had even entered."

After the call, Jane added: "This [house] is hers and I'm sure she's going to make a positive difference with it."
