All stores at homeware chain Wilko remain open - but with strict rules for customers in place.

The company has been deemed as an essentail retailer, and hasn't closed any of its stores across the country.

As the UK Government relax rules regarding exercise, here's a fresh reminder of the rules in place at Wilko stores.

What have Wilko said?

In a statement to customers online, Wilko said: "We’re open to support you and your families.

"At wilko, you’ll find many essentials all in the same place, such as paracetamol and other over the counter medicines, toilet roll, bleach, anti-bacterial wipes, baby food, pet food, and products to help you look after your home.

"We’ll continue to work hard to keep you and our team members as safe as possible, and to keep the stuff you need on our shelves and available on wilko.com."

What changes have been made at Wilko stores?

The changes in store are:

  • Customer marshals will be at store entrances to guide shoppers
  • Social distancing is in place across all stores with regular tannoy reminders
  • Cash transactions have been limited, with card-only tills in place
  • Protective screens and floor markers have been introduced at tills
  • Stores will close an hour early to make cleaning and replenishing easier for staff, although Sunday trading hours will remain the same

Changes to online orders

The statement adds: "Due to an increased volume of orders, we're currently only able to offer standard delivery, and unfortunately some deliveries may be delayed."

What limits are in place on products for customers?

Wilko have limited quantities on selected items, they are:

  • Pain relief
  • Cough and cold products
  • Children's medicine
  • Thermometers
  • Toilet rolls
  • Tissues and wipes
  • Hand sanitisers, soap and handwash
  • Cleaning and antibacterial products

Store opening hours

Wilko say they will be closing at 5pm between Monday and Saturday to allow essential cleaning to take place. Sunday closing times will remain the same.
