RESIDENTS of Wrenbury have been given a helping hand in keeping safe from the coronavirus, thanks to the efforts of one resident.
Irene Jones has been sewing fabric masks for members of the community to use, and has been depositing them in pick-up points around the village.
She says the masks, which are made of a material similar to J-Cloth, have been so popular, the costs are starting to add up.
βIt's starting to cost me a bit of money now, but I don't mind," said Irene. "People have said what a good idea it is.
"I am a sewer so have I quite a bit of material at hand, and I wanted to do something for my village.
"I've made about 150 up to now, I leave them in bags around the village.
"They're going like hot cakes. People say thank you for them.
"The first few bags have gone well, they've been very popular.
"I can make around six an hour now, I don't think you can tell the difference from the ones the NHS use.β
