As people adapt to the many changes facing us on a daily basis, lifestyle changes can be more difficult for some.

For those who rely on carers and family members to help daily with tasks such as dressing, eating and remaining active, the coronavirus pandemic may be a huge challenge

In order to try and help, local mobility retailer Ableworld, which has a base at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen, has taken the decision to remain open, offering support to people who need help with their mobility and remaining independent.

Ableworld has 35 stores nationwide, all of which remain open, even though around 70 per cent of the UK’s mobility stores have closed the doors.

As well as supporting customers Ableworld is proud to be able to support the NHS by providing equipment which enables people to be discharged from hospital. This may be help with equipment such as commodes, grab rails and stairlifts which are vital to people returning home safely.

Mike Williams, managing director, pictured, said: “We are really proud to be able to support customers and our amazing NHS at this difficult time.

“We understand it may be difficult for many customers at this time, if they cannot shop and do not have access to the internet, but we are committed to helping everyone as much as possible, and to reassure people they can get hold of mobility aids if they need them.

“If you or a loved one need any help or just some advice please don’t hesitate to contact one of the Ableworld team, and we will do everything we can to help you stay safe.”

Mr Williams added that for those who would like any help or advice regarding mobility equipment, Ableworld is committed to helping people through these difficult times.

They can offer help to you or a loved one on a wide range of dressing and bathing aids, incontinence products, stairlifts and much more. They also have a team of fully trained engineers available to help with any urgent repairs 24-hours-a-day, as well as being able to install new and reconditioned stairlifts quickly and efficiently.

He explained that the company is taking their responsibilities very seriously and ensuring they take care with all customers and staff, and ensuring they follow all of the government guidelines.
