A CATTERY owner in Selattyn has launched a photograph competition to help vulnerable cat owners and their believed pets during the COVID-19 crisis

Samantha Davies owns the Shropshire Cat Network and is running the cat photo competition to raise money for a cat rescue in Wem, north Shropshire.

People can enter with an undetermined donation for an entry fee as a donation to Sleapy Cat Rescue in Wem, Shropshire and Samantha is hoping for lots of people to get involved.

“We suggest a donation of £1 per photo, but the actual amount is up to you,” she said.

“The idea is to help vulnerable cat owners who live alone and are worried about what will happen to their cat in an emergency situation.

“Or to help people who, due to this crisis may be laid off work or unemployed, are worried about feeding their cats and to help support the rescue centres.

“You may enter as many categories as you like. All the money raised is for a good cause, so please feel free.

“Please follow the entry instructions to make your donation and then send in your entry using the form on the website.

“The closing date for entries is midnight on May 10, 2020. We won’t be accepting new submissions for the competition after this date.

“The judges for the Cat Photographic Competition are nurses at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen, who will choose a winner for each category and the overall ‘Top Cat’ winner.”

Categories include sleeping beauty; simply gorgeous; funny face; peek-a-boo; ‘catrobatics’ and best pals.
