A SCHOOL in Wem is continuing to help the fight against COVID-19, by producing and distributing face masks.
Thomas Adams school this month responded to the request for PPE for the NHS, set to work making and distributing masks, as well as donating other equipment.
The school has now made and distributed 1,000 masks to various sections of the NHS, with help from Lakelands Academy in Ellesmere and The Corbet School in Baschurch.
A spokesman for the school said: "We've made and distributed 1,000 face shields this week, our staff have been working non-stop to fulfil all the orders we're receiving.
"Face shields are now in use by key workers at local GP surgeries, care homes, hospices, hospitals, Shropdoc and community first responders to name a few.
"A huge thank you to everyone who has helped including The Corbet School for producing 100 face shields and to Lakelands Academy for supplying materials."
