WEM and Prees Medical Practice will remain open over the Easter bank holiday weekend, to "alleviate pressure" on other medical services.

The practice will only be open for urgent phone consultations, and other similar services.

Practice manager Caroline Morris says the medical practice will stay open to provide consistent care throughout the weekend, while taking pressure off the NHS 111 line, and the Shrop Doc.

"For continuity of care over the bank holiday weekend and to alleviate pressure on NHS 111 and Shrop Doc, Wem and Prees Medical Practice are remaining open for patients on Good Friday and Easter Monday," said Caroline.

"This is for urgent on the day telephone consultations with GP's, essential phlebotomy and Prees dispensary.

"Following a telephone consultation the clinician will decide whether a face to face appointment at the surgery is appropriate.

"Once again may I take this opportunity to thank all our patients in supporting the practice during this difficult time."
