ELLESMERE'S town clerk has confirmed volunteer registrations for the town's COVID-19 support group are now closed.
Jo Butterworth thanked all those who have volunteered so far, and guided anyone looking to play their part towards supporting the NHS.
She said: "Just to let you know that due to closing the town council offices the volunteer registration is now closed.
"If anyone is still keen to volunteer, the NHS are keen to get volunteers as drivers to pick up prescriptions and deliver food parcels at www.goodsamapp.org/NHS
"Thank you to everyone who registered and collected their ID badges.
“At the moment we are in the very fortunate position that the number of registered volunteers exceeds the number of people requiring help.
“The details of everyone who called to say they would like to volunteer but were unable to collect an ID badge will be deleted from our records.
"Should the situation change and the need for more volunteers becomes apparent, we will reach out to the community through this and the Ellesmere Community News page.
