PARENTS looking for things to keep children entertained during lockdown can breathe a little easier thanks to a Wem-based storyteller.

Jake Evans has been a professional storyteller for several years, and typically tells his stories in person, at schools, festivals and various events.

But government enforced measures on travelling means Jake has come up with new ways of telling his tales.

Through his Facebook page and YouTube, Jake has been livestreaming his stories over the Internet, as well as introducing various interactive activities for families.

Jake says his stories cover all sorts of topics.

"The interactive online sessions are featuring my favourite stories that I usually perform at schools, festivals and other events around the country," said Jake.

"But I will also be sharing other activities for families to have a go at from home.

"They'll cover art, music, science, history, geography – you name it!"
