RESIDENTS and staff at a nursing home in Malpas has shared a message of hope in the current COVID-19 crisis.

Nursing home residents are some of the most vulnerable, and homes across the country have closed their doors to families to prevent the spread of the virus.

The message from Prospect House in High Street is that they miss visits from family and friends, but residents are safe and well.

Maintaining the wellbeing and safety of residents within an infection free environment has been the main priority at the care home as it works to keep residents and staff safe from the coronavirus.

Sarah Stroud, registered manager at Prospect House, said spirits were still high, despite the ongoing crisis.

"Following the government guidelines, visitors, family and friends are no longer able to visit us," said Sarah. "But our spirits are high and everyone is well.

“We are missing our visitors, and just like the rest of the population we are using technology to stay in touch to maintain that all-important contact with our friends and family.

"We took this picture and are sending it out with smiles looking to the day when we can all come together again.”
