THE number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Cheshire now stands at 147, according to the latest figures published by the Department of Health.

As of 9am today (March 30) there has been a total of 61 cases in Cheshire East, 45 in Cheshire West and Chester, 22 in Warrington and 19 in Halton.

The latest figures also show, as of 5pm on March 29, that of those hospitalised in the UK, 1,408 have died.

As of 9am today, a total of 134,946 people have been tested in the UK. Of those 112,805 came back negative, while 22,141 tested positive.

Four people have died from the Covid-19 coronavirus in Leighton Hospital, Crewe, the latest one a patient in his 60s who had underlying health conditions.

One man in his 80s with underlying health conditions died from coronavirus at the Countess of Chester Hospital earlier this month.
