WHITCHURCH Town Council has drawn up plans to integrate Centre North East into local plans.

At March's full council meeting, councillors discussed having Centre North East added to the local place plan.

The place plan is Shropshire Council's outline of the needs of the community, and helps them develop a clear outline of the unique requirements of a settlement.

The decision was recently made for Whitchurch Town Council to adopt Centre North East from Shropshire Council and the town council have held a consultation on what residents would like to see become of the building.

At that meeting, which was also attended by director of place for Shropshire council, Mark Barrow, it was suggested that the centre become a priority community need project.

At the full council meeting, councillors agreed to consult with Mr Barrow on the correct wording for Centre North East's inclusion into the place plan, ahead of an official inclusion.
