A SCHOOL equestrian team enjoyed a successful day at the qualifiers for two major events hosted by the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA).

The Ellesmere College pairing of Harriet Otter and Immy Spencer-Blow qualified in their respective events as they competed in the NSEA National Dressage Qualifiers and NSEA Hickstead Elite Showjumping Qualifiers.

Held at the Southview Equestrian Centre last Sunday, Year 11 pupil Harriet, and her horse Annie, completed a faultless round in the 1.10m class to finish first.

Year 5 entry Immy, showed great maturity and confidence to shine in her category and take second and third places.

With the top two places in each category qualifying, the pair will jump at the National School Championships in Hickstead this August.

In the Dressage Arena – the Ellesmere dressage team put up a strong front as individual entries, with both of the Year 10 entries qualifying for the NSEA Plate Championships, which will take place in October.

Year 10 student Anna Maughan took fifth place in the preliminary dressage, while Tabitha Leonard took seventh in the novice dressage.

And 14-year-old, Emily Curzon, Year 9, also impressed in her category.
