WEM Civic Society will be taking a look back in time next week, as they examine some of the gems from the recent Heritage Weekend.

The evening, to be held on Tuesday, March 17, will feature the events of last year’s Heritage Weekend, including the stories behind some of the local material that was given to the society during the drop-in sessions.

Particular stories to be put under the microscope include Private Harry Lewis of the South Wales Borderers, Chapel Street, including Benedict House and the British School and the Open Houses.

There will also be an update into the future of the Crown Street Walk and the Heritage Wem project.

The evening will be led by David Smith, Oliver Richardson, and Shelagh Richardson and details will also be given into the Photography Master Class that will be led by Dave Granger in April.

Images are requested of Shropshire Townscapes, whether hamlet, village or town; an entire settlement, street or a few houses.

The evening will take place at 7.30pm at Wem Senior Club.
