Wem Cricket Club will be holding a race night to raise money for the club later this month.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 28 and is the latest fundraising event the club have planned as they prepare for life playing in the Birmingham Cricket League.

The new league will see the club playing against some of the biggest clubs in Midlands cricket.

To make the evening a financial success the club are looking for residents or businesses who would be prepared to sponsor a race.

There are 10 races available at £30 each or all 10 can be sponsored for a total cost of £250.

Each individual race sponsor will have their name printed on race cards and will receive recognition on the club’s social media sites.

All individual race sponsors will be entered into a draw with the winning ticket winning an advertising banner package worth £150.
