If you’ve ever wanted to learn to fish but didn’t know where to start then the opportunity to do just that is right around the corner.

The Canal and River Trust is hosting a Free Let’s Fish! – Learn to Fish session at Hodnet Angling Club on Saturday, April 25 at the Shropshire Union Canal’s Lockside Cafe in Grindley Brook.

It is one of hundreds of similar free award-winning events taking place across England and Wales giving people the chance to learn to fish with our team of professionally qualified angling coaches.

A spokesperson for the trust said: “All the bait and equipment is provided, so all you need to do is book in and turn up on the day.

“You can book your time slot now – just remember there is only one slot per person – by visiting www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/free-lets-fish-whitchurch-learn-to-fish-session-hodnet-ac-tickets-95426869335

“Spare spaces are often available on the day. Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked slot. If you’re late we’ll still try to fit you, but you may have to wait until a suitable slot becomes available.

“If you’re coming along as a spectator, remember to bring a folding chair as you need to be seated during the fishing session.

“The Canal & River Trust’s Let’s Fish! campaign is free to attend.” as part of our work as a waterways and wellbeing charity to help everyone get out, get active and make their lives better by water by learning to fish.

“You can now support the work our teams do with children and families and make a donation on our website.”
