A NEW crafting shop, aimed at tackling social isolation, has been officially opened in Wem.

Jenni's Craft Hub, located in High Street, was opened on Saturday, March 7, by television personality Debbie Shore.

Debbie Shore, former children's ITV presenter and 'craft guru' on ITV's This Morning cut the ribbon on Saturday, alongside Jenni and Wem mayor Councillor Phil Glover.

Jenni Harris says the shop will not just sell soft craft supplies, but will also function as a place for crafters to meet and work on their projects around like-minded people.

She also thanked those who attended the opening and helped make the day a success.

"I want to thank everyone who attended and made it such a success," said Jenni.

"I would love to thank Debbie Shore for cutting the ribbon and the mayor of Wem, Cllr Glover, for saying a few words.

"I would also like to thank my family and friends for all their love and support while this venture has taken shape.

"But most importantly I want to thank my rock, my soul mate and the man who puts up with me, warts and all, Alex Harris.

"Without you none of this would have been possible. Now onto the future."
