TWO men have appeared in court on suspicion of drugs offences after police uncovered a £900,000 cannabis farm at a house in Chester.
Erblind Rexhaj, 33, of Downham Place, Chester, and Edmund Rexhaj, 36, of New Street, Mold, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court this morning (February 27) charged with conspiracy to produce cannabis between January 14-26 this year.
The pair have been remanded in custody and will next appear at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, March 26.
Three other men – Imerli Metaj, 41, of Lache Park Avenue, Chester, Ervis Rexhaj, 31, of Park Avenue, Saltney, and Bleart Kobilja, 22, of Moss Lane, Prenton – have also been charged with conspiracy to produce cannabis and will appear before Crewe Magistrates tomorrow (February 28).
Chester Magistrates Court heard that a police operation carried out yesterday (February 26) had uncovered a property in Lache Park Avenue, Chester, containing cannabis plants worth £900,000.
Following a series of arrests, Cheshire police has confirmed that three men have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
They include two men from Chester, aged 33 and 29, and a 43-year-old man from Barnston.
