Shropshire Wildlife Trust (SWT) is holding a number of sessions to turn toddlers into wild beings at Whitchurch's Alderford Lake.

The sessions, which run weekly, are designed to show young children the joys of being outdoor and the importance of wildlife to the world.

With a different theme at the Thursday session each week, SWT is encouraging parents to bring their kids along.

A spokesman said: "Wildlings is our fantastic outdoor toddler group every Thursday morning (during term time) at Alderford.

"Aimed at under-fives, it offers children the chance to become a wild child, engaging their senses and encouraging a love of wildlife within a safe environment."

They continued: "Each week we will have a different theme, with changing activities and games included. We usually have a fire on the go with tasty snacks!

"Our safe wild child area allows children to explore at their own pace, engage with other children and most importantly get mucky!

"Following feedback we now offer term block bookings.

"You can book six sessions for £30 (£5 per session) which can then be taken any week during that school term (e.g. February to July, September to December).

"Under one's can attend for free and without booking.

"If you haven't been to Wildlings before and would like to try before you block book then please contact Ellie Larkham at elliel@shropshirewildlifetrust.org.uk

"All sessions include a hot drink for adults, plus juice and snacks for children. We play whatever the weather so please make sure your little ones and yourself are dressed suitably."
