FOOTPATHS in Whitchurch footpaths are soon to get a make-over thanks to help from local Walkers are Welcome volunteers.

The Whitchurch volunteers are joining other towns and villages across the United Kingdom in the Walkers are Welcome National Litter-pick.

They have organised a litter-pick on Saturday, March 28 to spruce up the public rights of way around Whitchurch and invite residents and other groups to come along and join in this family friendly event.

The Walkers are Welcome communities are concentrating their efforts on the countryside footpaths, thereby complementing the work of other groups who work to remove litter in their towns and villages.

All are welcome to come along and help. Volunteers should meet at The Archibald Worthington Club at 8.30am to take part.

The spring clean will commence at 9am when the Mayor of Whitchurch, Councillor Bev Duffy, will officially open the litter-pick, finishing at 12noon.

Those wishing to take part should wear suitable gloves, footwear and clothing for the time of year.
