SEVERAL flood warnings and alerts are in place across Wrexham and Llangollen this morning.

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) issued a flood alert for Bangor-on-Dee on Saturday afternoon, stating some localised flooding problems may result from surface water.

On Sunday morning that warning remains, but another has since been added for the Upper Dee Valley from Llanuwchllyn to Llangollen including Corwen.

An NRW spokesman said: "River levels are above normal but flooding of property is not expected at the moment.

"Lake levels at Llyn Tegid are rising and are expected to do so for the next six hours."

Another warning, put in place two weeks ago for the Lower Dee Valley from Llangollen to Trevalyn Meadows, also remains in place.

With the latest information for this warning on Saturday evening, a spokesman said: "River levels are above normal but flooding of property is not expected at the moment.

"Flood defences are now in operation and the situation on site is being constantly monitored.

"River levels at Manley Hall are currently falling and are expected to do so for the next several hours. River levels at Farndon are rising and are expected to do so for the next 12 hours.

"Further rainfall is forecast overnight, and conditions may change again, please continue to keep an eye on the situation."

A pair of flood alerts also came into force on Sunday morning - one for the Alyn catchment, which encompasses areas around the river Alyn from Llandegla to Rossett, as well as one for Rossett.

The Rossett alert relates to parts of Burton Road, Llay Road, Station Road, the Copse and properties on the right hand bank including Rossett Mill, Marford Mill and the Mill House.
