VISITORS to Whixall Marina will be able to enjoy a free boating trip next month as part of an Anglo Welsh open day.

On Saturday, March 28, to celebrate the start of the new boating season, Anglo Welsh is hosting an open day at Whixall Marina, offering people the chance to try canal boating for free.

The event runs from 10am to 4pm, offering visitors the chance to take a free trip on a skippered day boat.

Emma Lovell, bookings manager for Anglo Welsh, said the open day is a good way to pend time on the water.

"We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our open days to enjoy spending time by the water and a free taster session on aboard one of our newly repainted day boats," said Emma.

"As well as finding out more about our day boats, visitors to our open days can take a look around some of our holiday hire boats to see the high standard of accommodation they provide, with well equipped kitchens, fresh water flushing toilets, hot water showers, comfortable beds, TVs, DVD players and WiFi.

"Research shows that people feel happier and more relaxed by the water, so a day afloat on Britain's beautiful inland waterways is a great way to spend time with friends or family, enjoying stretches of beautiful countryside and a pub lunch or picnic along the way.

"Full tuition is included in our day boat hire package, so it's a great opportunity for those new to canal boating to get the hang of steering, mooring up and working the locks.

"Our day boats are suitable for up to ten people and they are all equipped with cutlery, crockery, a kettle, fridge, cooker and a toilet."

No booking is required and trips will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. For more information visit www.anglowelsh.co.uk
