CHILDREN at Tilston Primary School have been going green for charity.
The event was in aid of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, and all children were asked to wear green, as well as donating £1 on the day.
Attendees were able to enjoy bacon sandwiches courtesy of the School Committee, and parents also brought in cakes and ran a cake sale.
Megan Owen, fundraising manager for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity also visited the school in the morning for breakfast.
Headteacher Kelsey Mort said she was incredibly proud of the efforts of the children.
“I am extremely proud of the hard work our children have put in to organising this day,” said Kelsey. “It is a charity close to all our hearts.
“I am delighted to share that we raised a staggering £624.45.
“One of our families – Mr and Mrs Hayward – own Wingetts Estate Agents, and have offered to match-fund making a total of £1,248.90.
“We are absolutely overwhelmed at the generosity of our families and the local community for supporting our event.”
