AN EVENT to discuss healthcare provisions in Shropshire will be held in Shrewsbury next month.

The future plans for the care of people in Shropshire rely heavily on health, social care and the voluntary and community sector working closely together to support people.

Healthwatch Shropshire say a lot of work has already taken place to put this in place and they are bringing together representatives of some of the major organisations involved, the NHS, Social Care, housing, Age UK and Citizen's Advice, to explain how the work they are doing is supporting people now.

Lynn Cawley, chief officer of Healthwatch Shropshire, said she wants to hear people's views on the service.

"We know these organisations and others are putting a lot of effort into this area and wanted to give the public the chance to hear how they might be supported," she said. "To ask questions about the services available and give feedback about their experiences.

"We have arranged an afternoon where people can come along to do this and also to try out a couple of activities aimed at improving health and wellbeing."

The event is being held on Wednesday, March 4 at the Barnabas Centre, Shrewsbury and attendees can book online at www.healthwatchshropshire.co.uk or call 01743 237884.
