An ELLESMERE voluntary group has been out and about improving the town's surrounding countryside.
The work has been carried out by Ellesmere's Parish Paths Partnership (P3) came together to maintain items around the area.
David Ball, a member of P3, says the group is part of a wider initiative and was delighted with how it went.
"Access to Ellesmere’s surrounding countryside – its fauna, flora, canals, meres and scenic views – has been greatly enhanced," he said.
"The town’s Parish Paths Partnership (P3) volunteer group has been working in partnership with landowners and farmers to maintain to a high standard the areas local rights of way.
"[This includes] repairing damaged stiles, fitting kissing gates, hedge growth cutting and repairing broken fences and bridges.
"The group is an integral element of Shropshire Council’s excellent ‘Great Outdoors’ initiative designed to enable community members, visitors and tourists to enjoy the countryside and help improve their health and sense of wellbeing."
