WHITCHURCH Town Twinning Committee have met to discuss a potential visit to France this year.
The regular monthly meeting of the Twinning Committee was held at the Dodington Lodge in Whitchurch, on Friday, January 24 before the annual dinner.
The chairman, Andy Allen, welcomed those who were present.
Secretary, Val Webb, reported that she had still not received any communication from France in response to the offer to host 14 visitors during the weekend of May 15 to 18, which coincides with the Food and Drink Festival.
As the French Twinning committee offers English lessons and makes it a condition that participants join the 'jumelage', there may be more people wishing to come than the committee can accommodate.
The coffee morning and the quiz were both successful fund-raising events and Mr Allen thanked those who had helped and the Dodington Lodge for running the quiz.
Planning for the visit of our French guests will take place next month.
The next meeting will be held at 7.30 pm on the earlier date of Tuesday, February 4 at the Dodington Lodge.
