Some people feel rough in pubs on Friday nights, but at The Swan in Marbury on Saturday, many felt 'woof'.
The nationally-acclaimed pub on the outskirts of Whitchurch holds a monthly walk for dogs and their humans for coffee and bacon, meeting up with Barry, dog of chef Nick Semenenko, a labrador/collie mix.
He was delighted that his young four-legged friend is the leader of the pack at the Swan.
"I work in the kitchens here," said Nick.
"I've been here since it re-opened two years ago and Barry was just a few months old.
"Barry's definitely enjoyed being the main dog on the walk. He's almost like the mascot of the pub and he's well-known in Whitchurch too because we go to the Brown Bear."
Tom Morgan-Wynne, who manages the pub, says the monthly meet-up is a crucial way of the pub being part of the community.
He added: "When I took over, the dog walk was already established but we wanted to brand it 'Barry the pooch takes you on a mooch'.
"We want to be part of the village – it gives people something to do."
